A Prayer on Good Friday

Holy One, you who have so many names and yet remain unknowable,
Bless the grief we lay in this sacred space tonight;
Bless our sorrows and fears of a world that may seem to be untethering around us;
Bless our darkness, bless our unknowing, bless our struggle;
Hold us as we hold the mystery of grief.
And through our pain, help us to plant the seed of hope;
The seed that holds the promises of healing, of resurrection and of renewal.
As we move through this darkness, hold us in that great Love,
Ever present, ever abundant and ever true.
Amen.
